A few words about my blogging style
Alonga Travel is my travel and lifestyle blog. Here is more about me, the author of this blog.
My blogging style has started with covering topics very thoroughly to give you as much information as possible, with as much visuals as possible. Read here about topics I cover on Alonga Travel.
It is changing though in the age of AI and all the changes it brings to the web.
So first, let me tell you how I like to blog and what do I love writing about.
I like writing about walking and exploring cities and towns on foot. This way I can experience all the architecture and beautiful houses more fully. This is what I like doing the most and this is what I blog about.
I like adding lots of pictures and videos
I am a visual person myself; I need to see things, not just hear about them. That’s why I share a lot of pictures, videos and maps on my blog, so that you can get the best impression of a destination.
Look at these sun-soaked cobblestones in Lisbon. This is the scene worth traveling for to me!
It just has such a happy and yet old style vibe! I love blogging about where to find scenes like that in a city.

I like writing Thorough Posts
I like covering destinations & other topics as thorough as blogging rules allow (there are rules to keep us turning topics into books!:). Besides, people’s attention gets shorter and shorter each year.
And that is time consuming. Writing posts is not just writing whatever came to mind.
One also needs to do a lot of research to make sure the things one talks about are current, especially the prices.
I like to double (or triple) check the information I write about.
blogging this way takes up a lot of time, but this is the way I feel comfortable blogging. I do not want to serve wrong or very dated information.
And this is what I was doing in my earlier blog posts. I was covering a topic, until all aspects were completely covered. This is why I don’t have all destinations I’ve visited covered yet.
Unfortunately, AI large language machines, like ChatGpt, have entered the web scene and… not only read and memorize our blog posts so that anyone can recreate it with a few prompts in their own post, but now they compete with us for being shown in Google search.
So, basically, anything is a free food for these large language machines now. I will write a more detailed post about it, but for now I’m just saying that you can learn facts about destination in a short bullet point presentation from ChatGPT and similar players.
However, none of them can tell you how things FEEL out there in the world. And I can! I can even show you!
So, lately, this is what I will be moving towards, plus some practical info I think you will really need, but you won’t find it through AI channels.
Please, be patient with me, as all these AIs are a new, unprecedented development, and all bloggers are unsure how not to be taken advantage of by bad players, using them.
However I know for a fact that LLMs (chatGPT & similar) just can’t tell you the entire picture. They only know the facts they read somewhere, but that’s the extend of their knowledge. They can’t think, just recite.
I will be more helpful to you showing you the real entire impression of a destination I’ve learnt as an insider.
